Semaglutide may be prescribed by a licensed healthcare provider as part of a weight management plan for adults who meet clinical eligibility criteria. Treatment decisions are made based on individual health history, intake information, and provider review. Access to medication is coordinated through EPIC Health’s pharmacy partner when appropriate.

Common Reasons for Use

Body mass index (BMI) of 30 or higher
BMI of 27 or higher with a weight-related condition
Difficulty achieving weight management goals through diet and physical activity alone

Possible Benefits

Supports participation in a provider-guided weight management plan
May be included as part of a broader health and lifestyle approach
Allows for individualized care based on provider evaluation

How It’s Used

Prescribed as a once-weekly subcutaneous injection
Dosing is adjusted gradually according to provider direction
Used alongside nutrition and physical activity recommendations
